Bronies The Extremely Unexpected Review: Part 1

For some reason I had never previously seen the documentary, aptly named Bronies: The Extremely Unexpected Adult Fans of My Little Pony. I remember back before the first BUCK in 2012 hearing about John De Lancie's fondness of our community. It was pretty uplifting that such a notable actor had really expressed his interest in something as seemly obscure as male fans of My Little Pony. This was when he went on to quickly announce that he was working with a brony owned film company to create a Documentary all about our 'little' subculture. The response was ecstatic in the US,  but interest didn't really come to the UK until De Lancie announced he was intending to come to our first ever Brony Convention, BUCK. The Kickstarter donation drive shot through the roof with UK bronies eager to get the Draconequus' VA to make an appearance. Sadly he couldn't make it but he did nicely leave us a lovely video message and of course, the film crew still managed to come and get some cracking footage of BUCK.

Summer Sun Celebration Review!

Oh woah, where do I even start. This right here, the wonderful music festival that if it had ended here i'd have still been satisfied with the entire weekend. I think everyone else would agree, this is what set BUCK apart from most other conventions out there. There's not really much words can do to express the experience, not to the full extent, really was something you had to have been there for.

Let's start from the beginning, we were all there in the Moon Under Water after filming in the Waldorf for the National Geographic Documentary. For those familiar with the Manechester Muffin meets, the Moon under water is quite a large venue. We took out the entire upstairs, it was a beautiful moment I think, so many bronies all sat down, cheering, eating and drinking in preparation for the upcoming entertainment. Shockingly enough the staff were still able to serve us within a few minutes of ordering, which I have to say, kudos to them.

Galacon Review Part 3

Maybe I should try and wrap this review up some point before BUCK starts! Last day for Galacon, though we did have the Monday and most of Tuesday in Germany, which was quite the adventure. Now I wasn't expecting this, but we ended up waking up earlier on the Sunday then we did the Saturday. Seemed weird to me, but we had important business to take care of! The first event of the second day was the signing session for the American voice actors. Andrea and Peter readied their pens for the hoards of people lining up outside to get their signatures. A friend of mine is a massive fan of Big Macintosh and since Peter New was really talkative they ended up chatting for ages.

Galacon Review Part 2

We haven't event got to the opening ceremony yet and it's already Part Two! This is insane! Without any further adieu! At 11am the doors opened to the Main Hall, where we all took our seats for the opening ceremony. Perry came on stage and welcomed us to the Galacon. They then played videos detailing the community and show guests that were going to be appearing during the convention. We got to know all about the voice actors and what other roles they have played. They all then came on stage, which was was quite a surprise. Check after the break for the video and more!

Galacon Review Part 1

Over twenty of us Brits went to Galacon. About Half Split between Heathrow and Manchester Airports, with about three people travelling by Eurostar. I'll skip most of our trip since it's not really related to Ponies, but as a quick note, Germanwings airlines is probably one of the best i've ever travelled with, was such nice flight, the plane was really comfy as well. I highly recommend them. You guys should make them an OC like that other airline! Anyway besides me defeating the Elite Four, N and Ghetsis during that flight there isn't much more for me to say.
