For the longest time I was against putting adverts on this blog. Since it's just a blog after all, I have no finical cost with running this site and especially since the guys over at the UKoE manage to host a huge forums and pay for all of it out of their own pocket, I certainly didn't think adverts on my site would be a good or fitting idea.

However, there has been one little thing plaguing me! You guys should remember the contest we ran for Halloween! The banner contest and the winner got a £10 Amazon gift card! Well I paid for that myself, obviously but i'd love to do more contests throughout 2014. But for that we need a bit of a fund, or at least something to go towards the cost of buying prizes! So, this is where adverts come in! Using an online calculator i've figured out that we could get around £5 a month. Ok it's not exactly a huge sum of money, certainly not going to buy my way to Mexico to live with the Cholo Bronies. But it sure is going to allow me to run more contests and offer better prizes!

Now I am uncertain how much revenue we could be getting from this. So this is my promise to you all, if after a good couple of months we're seeing no finical gain from this, I'll be booting the ads! Not going to have them there if they aren't serving a purpose! Don't worry, i'll make sure there are prizes no matter what! Even if it's a dinner date with me and MUSH, I am sure you'll all enjoy that.

Merry Hearths Warming!

Hope you're all enjoying your Christmas so far. I for one am, woke up to some dollar, yeah, dollar, not Sterling. I swear I am not denouncing the monarch or anything, rather I am going to America in a few months, just had to mention that. 

Oh and Film4 are currently airing Spirited Away so you guys should totally watch it.

BronyScot updates it's image and Logo!

BronyScot, the upcoming convention in Edinburgh, Scotland, has just announced a new brand and logo~! Designed by the wonderful Katie Ferguson (remember, the winner from our banner contest??!). I love it, and so does the rest of the committee. It's unique, modern and of course, very Scottish.

To go along with the new logo, Katie also drew a fantastic high detail Nessie, the convention's mascot! Check out her Deviant Art here!

Nessie's creator, Darren, should totally have some sort of story written up for her at some point soon. We'll have to keep poking him.. with haggis.

Moth Ponies, now a thing.

So the Bat-Pony threads have taken one of their oddest turns yet. Moth ponies are now a thing. I guess this has something to do with Glaze? Certainly an adorable filly, I do in fact want to see where this one's going to go. Though there is always the chance they'll fade away into nothing within a few hours, like the kangaroo ponies did. Now they were weird!

Super Winter Brony Party Announces VIPs and Tombstone!

So the biggest brony bash of the winter taking place in London on the 25th January has announced some pretty cool guests who'll be performing! The biggest names being Julie Basecqz (that's French Rarity), Anneli Heed (who else, but Swedish Spitfire!) and of course our very own, Living Tombstone!

On top of all that we'll be seeing Acoustic Brony, Eilemonty, JayB, DJ Sleepypony and HMage!

For those who loved the Summer Sun Celebration and of course, Spyker's birthday last year, this party will be a huge hit!

Make sure you check out the UKoE thread and register! As only people who have registered will be getting into the event~ Which is free by the way, so there's really no reason not to go!

The subject of Hooves!

One of the biggest mysteries of all of Equestria happened to be one that almost all ponies take for granted, with a special exception for maybe Lyra. How do hooves even work!? One moment we see ponies walking on them making the clippy-cloppy sound and leaving horse shoe marks, the next we see them softly picking an item up. This has to be some form of evil dark magic or science, there's no other explanation!

Tombstone Boycotts Google

Well, I wasn't expecting this to happen. Tombstone has recently uploaded a video titled "YouTube comments disabled". In the video he explains that he has chosen to close comments down on all of his songs and videos because he disagrees with how Google is handling the new comment system. Don't get me wrong, I love the guy, but this just seems a little be silly. The video is worded as if he is protesting, as if others join and do what he has then Google will have no choice but to change the comment system back.

There's certainly been a ton of whining going on concerning this subject, but I ask you all who disagree with Google's actions just one thing. Have you even given the new comment system a go? It's by far superior then the previous. The layout is neater, the inclusion of plus tagging people is a fantastic little addition. Replies are displayed better now and the best part is that you can choose to comment either public or to specfic Google+ circles. This creates even more conversation, rather than just one big messy rant there are now several conversations you can enter. I know it might be annoying that Google are forcing Google+ onto people and I agree that them forcing people to change their YouTube channel names to their Google+ names is just silly. But, to be frank and I have said this is on many occasions, Google has done a lot worse to YouTube that changed it fundamentally and we all just sat and let it fly by without even a moan.

Oh and The Tomb has a Subreddit now.. for some reason.

So, season four is about to bless us with it's presence. I was intending to do many more articles leading up to season four about various theories and looks into what people wanted from season 4. But sadly that didn't really happen. But oh well, no big loss, we'll definitely be seeing a ton of articles come season 4's release. For now, here's a few things i'd love to see in season 4. Red Cherry Productions looking for Bronies!

A student production company by the name of Red Cherry Productions are intending to produce a documentary on bronies and our culture. Obviously this is a student project, so their grades depend on it and that jazz, so it's more than likely that this documentary will show us in good light.
They're looking at making a 3 minute short that if approved will allow them to work on a 20-30 minute documentary that will be shown at a film festival.

Which side characters need more love?

Imagine if they brought Steven Magnet back in season 4. That'd be so weird, yet amazing. He was the best character. I am sure you can all agree.

So, which one off side characters would you love seeing getting some more love in season 4? No, Trixie doesn't count, she had two episodes.. and Seth would be too happy.

I'd like to see Twilight's parents actually having a speaking role. If the comics are canon enough to the show we might be seeing just this! Since Twilight's mum is the author of Daring Do in the comics and one of the upcoming season 4 episodes sees the Rainbow Dash and Twilight help the author of their favourite adventure book series to finish their latest.

Calling it, giants crabs will fight Rarity.

Why don't you guys go to meets?

So for you avid readers of Equestria Daily, you might have noticed they recently held a poll on meet-up groups. With my involvement in Manechester and helping run meets for over a year now and for being a massive fan of such events way before the Brony craze even began I though i'd analyse/critique the results of the poll. Thoughts on Alicorn Fluttershy

Ok, so lets take the bait. Those of you who are aware, the above image has been floating about for a few days now. That and a tweet from M. A. Larson. Now, lets for a second imagine this is legit and season 4 will see Fluttershy becoming an alicorn. I'm surprised I haven't seen more drama revolving around this, maybe people have just accepted it since Twilicorn, but I think we'll likely see quite a bit of drama surface if any more info turns up. Super Winter Brony Party, coming January!

Spyker, Stormswirl and and a fellow named Josh are organising a big bash in the new year! If you guys can remember Spyker's birthday meet last year you'll be quite familiar with the layout of this event! It'll definitely be the best start of the year for us bronies! BronyScot Event Announced!

Good evening fillies and gentlecolts! Tonight we are pleased to bring you the first official announcement of the BronyScot Event. As you can guess with our name, we are planning an event in Scotland! That's the Country above England! Specifically we're looking into a selection of venues in the wonderful city of Edinburgh. The date is set to be 2014.

I'm the Communication and PR manager for BronyScot and I am joined by several others who are hard at work planning and organising this event. I'm sure they'll all make themselves known over the next few months.

We would much appreciate it if you could take a little time filling out this simple survey we have prepared.

Nightmare Night Banner contest!

It's almost everyone's favourite holiday and to celebrate we're hosting a contest to get people into the spin of things! Now, the site's looking a little dim I think, what it needs is a new banner, one fit for the season. So artists get your pencils at the ready! All entries will be taken into consideration and the winner will be chosen by a few admins. What's up for grabs as a prize? Yes, we actually have a prize sorted out for this one! The winner will receive a £10 Amazon gift e-voucher to spend on anything from Amazon, be it Pony merch, books, music or whatever. Depending on the response to this contest we might add more prizes.

Three years of Bronies - Thirty of Ponies!

It's kind of shocking how quickly time has gone shooting by these past few years. On October 10th 2010 the 4th generation of My Little Pony aired on American Television, little did we know that this was the start of quite the phenomenon. Now three years down the line we've grown into this amazingly huge fandom, with thousands of fans from across the globe. I think we're all really excited for what Season 4 might bring come the end of November, I certainly wish November would get here sooner.

But yes, on to the main topic of this post. Three wonderful years of MLP:FiM, Bronyism and thirty years in total of MLP as a franchise. This sort of mile stone needs a celebration to fit. I hope you guys all have something splendid planned for Thursday, not sure what I'll be doing, but chances are it'll involve watching a few episodes, haven't seen an episode in ages! Whatever you've got planned, we'd love to hear! Comment below or hit that submit button!

Summer Sun Celebration Review!

Oh woah, where do I even start. This right here, the wonderful music festival that if it had ended here i'd have still been satisfied with the entire weekend. I think everyone else would agree, this is what set BUCK apart from most other conventions out there. There's not really much words can do to express the experience, not to the full extent, really was something you had to have been there for.

Let's start from the beginning, we were all there in the Moon Under Water after filming in the Waldorf for the National Geographic Documentary. For those familiar with the Manechester Muffin meets, the Moon under water is quite a large venue. We took out the entire upstairs, it was a beautiful moment I think, so many bronies all sat down, cheering, eating and drinking in preparation for the upcoming entertainment. Shockingly enough the staff were still able to serve us within a few minutes of ordering, which I have to say, kudos to them.

Gamers Night 1 - Adventure to Big City and beyond!

A few of you might remember a while back, Harby used to run Bronies UK Gamer Nights from time to time. These were quite popular at the time and it's been a shame to see Harby leave the fandom and drop these quite wondrous Gamer Nights. So, here we are, bringing them back officially with a kick! On Sunday the 29th September at half past seven we'll be heading down to Big City for some crazy antics and maybe a bit of prop hunt!

Sorry for the delay + Little bit of News!

Sweet Celestia! It's been almost two weeks since my last post. Honestly, i've been burnt out since BUCK, I swear, that mixed with being dead busy sorting through countless amounts of old belongings and sorting my new bedroom out, it's been extremely time consuming.

I have been working on the review for the Summer Sun Celebration, it pretty much was finished on day one but then I got side tracked with what I explained above. That'll be up before the end of the week I can assure you, though I'm not sure what i'll do about my BUCK review, I might try and sum it up quicker in a video response, we'll have to see. 

Forbidden Planet Bristol Pony Day!

You know for the longest time I thought Bristol was Kent, but that's a story for another day. Actually heard about this on EQD surprisingly enough. The awesome fellows of Forbidden Planet Bristol are hosting a My Little Pony day, for bronies. Can't complain about that now can we. Shame Forbidden Planet Manchester and Leeds aren't on the same page with us bronies. One day maybe, we can only wait and see.

For those who live in Bristol get yourself down to Forbidden Planet on Saturday 14th September between the hours of 10am and 4pm.

There's going to be a Cosplay catwalk, MLP quiz with a giant pony up for grabs and blind bag painting!

Why BUCK Why.. I don't want to wait another year!

So BUCK is over, it's been a hell of a weekend. I honestly cannot express how much I enjoyed the entire event, from the pre-meets to the Summer Sun Celebration to the actual con it's self!
Apologies for not getting much out this week, been quite busy recovering from BUCK (and getting rid of Windows 8 on my new laptop..).

Anyway, sadly I'll be without that laptop until Sunday, no I didn't break it, i'll be visiting family in London, and of course attending the Party in the Park tomorrow! So I hope to see lots of you guys there! Seriously, need more pony, post convention depression and all isn't good!

Don't threat though i'll be working on some form of review of BUCK and the Summer Sun eventually. Got my iPad so maybe i'll try and bash something out on that.. though typing on a touch screen just can't compare to a keyboard!

Muffin Meet and Pre-meet going well!

So, the Thursday Muffin meet was truly amazing, the numbers kept going up and down but we were around 45-50 at the height. Taking over the Moon Under water wetherspoons was amazing experience, all the tables at the back upstairs were just surrounded by bronies. The staff were kinda out of their depth but we all managed to get fed and merry. Many awesome bronies were there, especially awesome seeing our European friends, such as the French bronies, Norwegian and of course the Czechoslovakian bronies, including the guy dressed as Zecora who saved the Galacon closing ceremony!

Now it's the actual Pre-Meet, we descended on Star Bucks again, the Czech's brought out My Little Karaoke.. it's quite amazing!

Anyway, soon we're be heading to the Waldorf for the meet and filming with National Geographic! Or back to the Moon under water for the camera shy lot!

Oh! And the summer sun celebration at 7pm, Manchester Central! 

BUCK is this weekend!

I honestly have no idea how it came about so quickly, it just sort of happened! BUCK is taking place this weekend, starting with the Summer Sun Celebration festival on Friday at 7pm. Are you excited? Because i'm excited!

Galacon Review Part 3

Maybe I should try and wrap this review up some point before BUCK starts! Last day for Galacon, though we did have the Monday and most of Tuesday in Germany, which was quite the adventure. Now I wasn't expecting this, but we ended up waking up earlier on the Sunday then we did the Saturday. Seemed weird to me, but we had important business to take care of! The first event of the second day was the signing session for the American voice actors. Andrea and Peter readied their pens for the hoards of people lining up outside to get their signatures. A friend of mine is a massive fan of Big Macintosh and since Peter New was really talkative they ended up chatting for ages.

I feel like i've gotten behind on articles this week! And it's almost BUCK! What am I to do! Been very busy with things non-pony related things! I have been working on Part 3 of my Galacon review, which i'll be looking at wrapping up with that part, I could easily go onto Part 4, but I think you might all be sick of my walls of text. Oh, and something awesome came through the post the other week! Expect my first video review soon.

Keychains and necklaces!

Now, this is knock off Chinese merchandise. I believe they are based on some of the freebies Welovefine offer when you spend like over a million pound. But I have to say, the quality is pretty awesome. Many of these sellers are popping up on eBay, I recently bought a Luna keyring, and though it doesn't feel like the best metal in all the world and has a bit of a plastic feel to it, it still looks awesome and is durable. Perfect pony addition to my keys. I'm posting this seller specifically because they have quite an awesome selection and offer both keychains and necklaces. For a really good price as well, just £3.23 without any postage and packaging, these are an unbeatable bargain!

Competition for BUCK!

We'll be hosting a contest during BUCK in a few weeks time. Keep an eye out for a note book being passed about, because that book is your chance to win! The games easy, in the book will be a word, your job is to reply to that word with another word that is associated with said word. Then you'll pass it along to a random person who'll do the same with you word, and so on and so on. Hopefully the book will make it's way back to myself or another Bronies UK admin at the After Convention Breakfast!

The winner will be who ever made the best, most amazing association. There'll be some nifty prizes up for grabs, so make sure you enter!

Galacon Review Part 2

We haven't event got to the opening ceremony yet and it's already Part Two! This is insane! Without any further adieu! At 11am the doors opened to the Main Hall, where we all took our seats for the opening ceremony. Perry came on stage and welcomed us to the Galacon. They then played videos detailing the community and show guests that were going to be appearing during the convention. We got to know all about the voice actors and what other roles they have played. They all then came on stage, which was was quite a surprise. Check after the break for the video and more!

Galacon Review Part 1

Over twenty of us Brits went to Galacon. About Half Split between Heathrow and Manchester Airports, with about three people travelling by Eurostar. I'll skip most of our trip since it's not really related to Ponies, but as a quick note, Germanwings airlines is probably one of the best i've ever travelled with, was such nice flight, the plane was really comfy as well. I highly recommend them. You guys should make them an OC like that other airline! Anyway besides me defeating the Elite Four, N and Ghetsis during that flight there isn't much more for me to say.

So, as some of you might have noticed over on the UKoE forums, a fellow by the name of Greetings and his team are creating quite an epic card game video game! Now, they've got to sort a few things out for the game so they have announced this contest! Basically, you send them your OC and if it's awesome enough it'll become one of the 20 archetypes or if it's super special it'll become one of the 6 virtues!

Back from Galacon!

I've returned from Germany though I really wish I could have stayed! It's been a wonderful weekend, not only for Pony, for everything! German culture is awesome. Still sort of suffering from Post Con Hangover Exhaustion Depression. I'm still not deadly sure how i'll be covering the convention. I think I'm going to be posting several different articles other the next few days to get the best coverage and to keep things interesting. I didn't take as many pictures as I should have, luckily though within our group there was one guy taking hundreds of tourist pics and two actual photographers so we should have some pretty cool pictures among us.

Anyway, I'm not glad to be back! But it's nice having internet again :P

Possible new blind bags!

Not sure how legit these are, they do look custom painted, but are pretty darn awesome at that. Rainbow Cadance and Dr. Whooves in socks? Can't argue with that. I've always loved the blind bags the most, expect that poor Fluttershy had to share a mould with Rainbow Dash. But yeah,. the blind bags, though overly recoloured are awesome little toys. Some of the best uses of them i've seen are being made into jewellery, such as necklaces and key chains. Other cool uses include and are not limited to, Christmas tree ornaments, computer desk ornaments, projectile weapons and a tasty snack if you're lost in the Sahara desert.

Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special and MLP:FiM all on the same day!

Ok, not exactly news since I posted the release date earlier and we've all known the Dr. Who date for months now. But I hadn't realised until my friend pointed it out earlier! That Saturday is going to be amazing!
Hope, as the rumours say, Dr. Who will be shown in Cinemas! Or maybe we'll end up watching both at the London Pub meet! We'll have to wait and see! All I know, is we're going to enjoy both for sure!

New pony toys announced at SDCC!

During SDCC a ton of new toys were announced, including a few marked as "adult toys". Dirty jokes aside, these models are on the more expensive side, of very high quality and even have gem stones encrusted into them. What's your thoughts on this? Would you pay extra for a toy just because of some gems? They're certainly awesome looking. A week until Galacon!

Well, in just a weeks time a bunch of us will be leaving the UK and travelling to Germany! No no, it's not just for the chocolate and ale. It's for the one and only Galacon! With a ton of show guests, both from America and Europe and some truly amazing community guests, Galacon is set to be brilliant. We'll be suiting up in formal dress for the evening Gala, which'll be good since i've missed wearing suits during this crazy summer heat.

I'll try my hardest to cover the convention in it's fullest! I'm not sure what the Internet situation is going to be like, hopefully the hotel will have a cheap enough connection! If not, expect an update during the following Wednesday!

Season 4 Date Announced!!!

I knew it wouldn't be December! Though, it's still a little later than we're used to. Saturday November 23rd! Here's the announcement straight from the Hub's Facebook page! There's already talks of a grand London Pub meet at The Horse! Here's the UKoE proposed thread! Lets hope everyone puts on a good party. The clips from SDCC showed us we definetly have a good season in line for us! Can't wait!
